Training with Training Wheels

Hey yous!
I am uh... TRAINING. Oh, and I am only half way through my own training. President called and said he wanted to extend the calling for me to train even though I am only half way through mine- it is crazy but I am so excited to set the bar high for my mission "daughter" and teach her to be obedient, work hard, but have fun the whole time! So I am in the mission office right now working for these 3 days in the area waiting to pick up my new comp. Tomorrow! My only concern with training is our growing teaching pool and not knowing the area enough, but after doing the train and busses in this area, I noticed how well I really do know and love Canberra :)

But a crazy week! So lets try and sum it up quick so I can send some of the heaps of pictures I took and check some other emails (I hope to answer them all but this Pday is a little crazier here in Mortdale).

There is a Yogurtland now in my area and it is the same except the brownie and cheesecake bits are a full-on brownie and cheesecake piece. So it all weighs a lot. Mine was like 8$.
(us with the traveling sisters)

Ok no more about food. We had the traveling sisters come down to do splits with us. We did a lunch at Max Brenners chocolate bar... Chocolate Pizza and a rich hot cocoa.

Dang it. I am talking about food. I swear that was not my intention... but more about the splits. It was good. A lot of miracles. We are starting to work in two new suburbs, a little farther away, but found some great potentials. I am both of the traveling sister's future maid of honor as well for their weddings. #success  Sis. Paki is from New Zealand and loves awkward moments as missionaries as much as I do. And Sis. Pennumaka is from India and is my mission grandmother (trained my trainer) and now that I am training- that makes her a great grandma so we took a 4-generation picture… of course!

Working with them was great. They talked to us a lot about our strengths and the big one that stuck out to them was my positive energy and enthusiasm about the gospel (I am getting that a lot) and how I want to treat everyone as a child of God and give them that happiness.

When they said that I finally realized WHY I am on a mission. People ask and I go into my big mission story about praying, getting answers, serving others etc. But now I really know why. The gospel is happy. It is what blesses lives and it has blessed mine. I want to share this happiness with everyone! I feel like as I continue on my mission, I will continue to find more reasons why I really am here. And I am looking forward to it!

Just a few things from the area... and just know we had some finding miracles in the new suburbs that I am looking forward to working in (thanks for the prayers, they work). The Filimaua family (our best friends) also ended up hearing a live performance of our Mormon rap and changed lyrics to Beautiful Soul (Jesse McCartney song). They were cracking up and said they have NEVER met missionaries like us before. I will also consider that a success and try to attach those song lyrics haha.

Also our investigator with a baptismal date came to church, which was great! (Besides wandering off at the end of Sunday school to walk to the shops because he was hungry??? (Understandable though). We will probably have to push back that date, but keeping faith. The longer the journey, the more miracles and the more their life will truly change and be blessed by the gospel.

I LOVE the work. I am humbled and honored to be trusted by President Lew and the Lord to be training after just 6 weeks. Next week I will have my usual Monday P-day and will update yous on my new daughter. Thanks for the prayers, love and support. You all are the best :)

Sister Rushing

P.S. I JUST DROVE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. I just did the certification while I am here at the office in case I ever get a car. Scary as. But hey, I passed.

P.S.S. I got letters from Kate, Jen and Grandma CC. Thanks so much! I will write back this week and get those off to you. It made my day getting those :) And Kate... keep the new country music lyrics coming ;)

P.S.S.S.  I have finally seen Kangaroos (not just dead roadkill)!  They are so cute!
(we taught a class on teach my gospel and studies at the mtc, so it had a corny theme with candy of course)

And a big shout out to my not so little anymore brother Layton. Can't believe he is a teenager, so proud of him. I am also so glad he got my letter and hope he knows how much I love him and thought about him on his special day (and the day before because of Australia time).
