Hello!
I WENT TO THE TEMPLE THIS MORNING! Best day ever.
Ah. The peace there is outside of this world, seriously. How can you not know this is the true church on the earth today when you have temples with just a tangible feeling of peace because the spirit is just that strong. Well anyways, the rest of the week! Miracles and a few funny as stories. So please read, and prepare to be blown away/entertained. No pressure for me aye?
So it has been a faith filled week. I fasted for something big... I never have really asked for any baptisms or outward success because I believe I am a seed planter but where is my faith in that right? So I fasted to find a family and to save a soul. The next day I think I found that family. We went back to Grace and Eddie, the catholic couple we found a few weeks back (a nonmember referral) that we taught all the restoration to minus Joseph Smith. They let us in and straightaway and he asks, "I've been reading that book...Who is Joseph Smith?" It was the best lesson ever and we committed them to be baptized and they said, "Well, we can't say that.... yet" but they committed to honestly read and pray and unless the adversary steps up hardcore (like it will) all will go well! Then the next day I think we found that soul... It was a potential investigator Kathy who wanted to meet up for a cuppa (coffee... I promise we had hot chocolate) and it was so great. Also committed her to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. She is Aussie, but really open to see what we have to offer and our perspective and how it jives with hers.

Then we had a BOMB exchange this week. I stayed in our area with Hermana Morales and we focused on commitments and invited everyone to be baptized. It was great. We taught Helen, a referral from a lady in our ward that is SO PREPARED. She showed up to a baptism a few weeks back. We taught her the plan of salvation and everything rang true to her. She said we brought the spirit into her home, testifying what we taught was true. Invited her to be baptized but needs more info on the restoration, which we will teach on Wednesday and I know she will be on date soon. She is Indian, from Fiji, lost everyone in her life but her children and suffered a heart attack recently. She needs this gospel and the member that referred her to us is the best fellowship ever!
P.S. prayer charts are the best thing ever. Totally softened a less active member in our ward's heart as her young kids were so excited about it. And gives us an excuse to follow up weekly. We went by the next day to drop off their charts like we said we would and all the kids were so happy "the sisters are back! they remembered!" #daymade. Also, they are practicing making the best homemade cookies for us to try when we go back next week. Double win.
Our members here are the best so we don't want that to go to waste. We are making cute as missionary kits for members and committing them to hand out something before we see them again. Can't wait to see how that goes.
Random stuff! We grilled up some kangaroo burgers last pday. tasty! tasty! Seriously. We got pranked called by a 13 year old less active we work with because he "was bored." It is definitely winter, and super wimpy compared to the states... like a light jacket will do but I justify this as tim tam slam season. We taught a gay guy. We yelled at Vera as we were driving through the intersection she was walking across to set up an appointment. Oh and I got proposed to by a deaf and blind guy....literally. Ok, this is a funny story. I'll tell it.
We are sitting at these two chairs, he sits down next to us, motions around his face, points to me, then thumbs up. Nec Minut, he is rubbing his chest around his heart. Oh my badge right? So I'm all like, grabbing my badge "Yes, I am a missionary. Have you seen missionaries before?" and pulling out a restoration pamphlet. He hands it back and shakes his head no. Then pretends to dig and sweat and then rubs his fingers together like money, then pretends to put a ring on his left finger and then points to me, and smacks his lips together.... I was so confused. ASL doesn't exist here but the sister I was with at the time translated this to me as he likes my face, loves me and will work hard to buy me a ring. muah!
But I ran into Sister Pelto and Sister Manoo this week. They are both doing great. Sister Manoo was glowing! She is doing so good and is on fire. I am so proud of her. And of course love my pocket rocket sister pelto who is doing great as well.
When it is all said and done, my biggest convert of my mission is and will be myself. I love how much I have grown and have continued to grow. I am so grateful for the peace only this gospel can bring. I'm so grateful to find those who are searching for it, or didn't realize that the fullness of the gospel has been restored. And it has. I know it more than anything. It just makes sense. The more I think about it, the more I am questioned the more I realize that the restoration of the gospel makes more sense than it doesn't. My reading of the Old Testament and the New Testament only confirm this. And the best part? Well that is that everyone else can have the same conviction I do, on their own for themselves and all they have to do is ask. Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you.
