P-day is Thursday and I don’t have one this first week to
check email but I can write everyday! So
mom, feel free to type this and post it if you have the energy!
But I am doing GREAT!
1st day is supposed to be hard? Wait, what?
The energy is great and the spirit is so strong! I haven’t had a better day in my life than
today, wearing that name tag and running busy all day on under 2 hours of
sleep.
Thanks again for all going to the airport – your love and
support means the world. Oh and don’t
miss me please. I am happy as ever. Even without country music. I’m stronger than I thought.
I even ate healthy.
Tomato-Basil soup, salad and a parfait instead of BYU creamery ice
cream. Feelin’ motivated to finally keep
this portion of the word of wisdom…haha.
I got a note in my book bag from Annie Fitt (nursing friend
with call to Vancouver) and it made my day!
She works in the MTC bookstore and used her connections to do this and
add a bag of the trail mix she would bring to me in microbiology. If I don’t run into her at bookstore
tomorrow, please message her on facebook and tell her it made my day!
I also ran into Sister Christa Huggard and Sister Karina
Hill (twice). I LOVE my district. Us 6 girls are all going to Australia (5 to
Sydney South, 1 to Perth) and our 6 Elders are too (4 to Sydney South, 2 to
Perth). My actual companion is Sister
Harris who is cousins with my study abroad friend Lauren Harris! So shout out to her!
We did this crazy group lesson today where we all switched
off parts of the lesson – on the spot.
Each got much better. 35+
companions teaching one investigator is a lot harder than 2 I would imagine.
But it was so emotionally involving. I made a fair share of comments and additions
considering I’m like the oldest one here.
So I thought I should contribute!
Afterwards, I was told my enthusiasm is great! I am so excited to get out and teach.
Well, I still have to write in my journal but just wanted
you to know I’m safe and sound in Provo and the Lord is already taking care of
me and blessing me beyond measure!
Please “”DearElder” me everyone!
Lots of love,
Sister Rushing
