#randomletterfullofmiracles

Sorry for no organization this week. I just really have to start with this...

MIRACLE. After teaching practically the whole Sudanese population here in Canberra and having multiple baptism rejections from parents (including two just this week, even though the 12 year old was so excited saying she had the warm happy feeling and can't wait until she is 18!) we got a SIGNATURE.

My heart was so happy. Alek will be baptized on the 8th of February! She is INCREDIBLE. I feel like she might just be that soul I was sent here to find :) Her 8-year-old nephew Jason also came to church on Sunday and accepted the same baptismal date and will be baptized with his aunt- if his mom gives him permission when she returns from Africa this week. I love these two with my whole heart. Jason actually reminds me of my brother Will. Except quiet....and shy.... and black.... Haha Ok, so maybe it’s more the idea that they both feel like family! And all I want for them is the most happiness and peace in this life, and the life to come :)

4 new investigators this week though which is AMAZING. Jason, obviously, and then Dawn (22 year old NURSE. Who went to freaking seminary back in high school with a friend!) and then a couple that came to a dinner appt. at a members house last night that we talked to and then they gave us a return appt! More sowing and reaping this transfer but I can't help but find. It’s my favorite :)

Oh and shall we talk about Sunday for a bit?!  We reached my goal that I have had from day one in the Belconnen ward. WE OPENED THE OVERFLOW. 229 at church. 6 months ago when I arrived we were hitting about 170 I was told. GOD IS SO GOOD!

FUNNY STORY. So it’s been quite the adjustment staying with my old companion of 3 transfers with the new and green companions but we are making the adjustment. Especially with one car and due to some miscommunication at transfers... one phone. To wean us off each other we do joint companionship study though, which is where we learned neither of our comps knew what Law of Chastity was. So Sis Holtz made me, as the nursing student, teach the Law of Chastity and the Birds and the Bees. I told the new sisters to have no shame, its only awkward if you make it awkward just explain it, straight up. Next minute.... teaching Law of Chastity to a Sudanese mother and her 6 kids UNDER the age of 12 and my comp looks at all the young kids in the face and says, "Don't have sex!!" Go Soa go!
My new companion Sister Manoo from Samoa

RANDOM BITS! The lady that prays to another Jesus.. read all the articles of faith with her and agreed with all of them. Committed her to write her own testimony and what she believes in and she asked to copy them! So that’s a good sign. Also another mean door! A lady told me to go serve in a country that actually needs help, and then ripped on Americans #SweetSpirit #Justkeepsmiling! :) And it’s been a hot hot week! Over 40 degrees C. Which makes Australia the hottest country in this world this week. It also made it really fun when our power went out last night... meaning our fans didn't work. I soaked my towel in cold water and used it as a blanket.

What a random letter, with a lot of #hashtags!  But moral of the story... The church is SO true and I love INVITING others to find that out on their own. I know without a doubt that anyone who wants to find the truth, with a sincere heart and real intent will find it in this gospel. I love all of you and I love serving the Lord and trying to not just align my will with His, but to give it all to Him and serve with my whole soul.

Omni 1:26 "Ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and power of his redemption. Yea come unto him, and offer your WHOLE SOULS as an offering to him and continue in fasting and praying and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."

Heaps and heaps of love!
Sister Rushing :)
