Belconnen
Week 10
Golden.
Investigator. Baptismal Date. She is 16, parents are Hindu, she wants to be
Christian, and all of her views line up with the gospel. I honestly have
to ask myself if this is a member playing a mean joke on us and getting us all
excited because her questions are too keen, ah! Meeting with her again
today and can't wait.
So the
traveling sisters came down this week which was a little stressful being in the
trainer spot this time but it went really well. We were able to go on splits,
get in touch with our heaps of new investigators and now have 5 that are
progressing. We also were able to get in touch with some less actives we have
been trying to get in touch with forever and also had some stellar good lessons
with them.
Zone
training this week was also really good. It turns out Sis. Holtz and I almost
achieved the zone's goal of new investigators on our own. Goal was 20, and we
found 19. This is why the world needs more sister missionaries ;) But no,
really, it is all the Lord's doing, my faith was tried last transfer and now
the fruit is coming forth. The Lord has truly put those who are in our paths there
for a reason and as I do my part to talk to everyone of them, miracles happen.
But now I
am excited to start TEACHING. The finding focus has been great and now I am
loving teaching as much as I have loved finding.
Zone pday
was laser tag, my fave. But its intense here in Australia, you need so much
strategy. Out of the 23 of us I came in 8th the first time and then it went
down hill the other 2 rounds. And my team always got 2nd out the 3 no matter
how we were split up (districts, then utahans, other palangis, and the fobs and
last round was trainers, trainees and others haha).

Also, to
scare the living daylights out of all ya’ll… I HAVE BEEN DRIVING. We found out
we are a car sharing area actually so I don't need special permission to
drive. But the car is the other sisters
but if they aren't using it, I can. So I drove on splits with the traveling
sisters and to an appointment last night. How cool is that? "Choose the
left, when you are driving in Australia, but remember the blinkers are on the
right.." Please reread that to the tune of choose the right if you didn't
already :)
I also
have super loved my studies every morning. I learn that I have a new favorite
scripture everyday haha. And today it is
this... Mosiah 5:15 "Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and
immovable, always abounding in good works, the Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent,
may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have
everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and
justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who
is God above all. Amen."
I had
another experience this week where I prayed to find an answer to a concern one
night and the next morning I opened up my scriptures in D&C to the last
place I left off (I am multitasking B of M, D&C, Bible, Jesus the Christ
and Preach My Gospel so that increases the odds you see) and it was the first
verse of that section. If you want to speak to God, pray. If you want God to speak
to you, read the scriptures.
So
excited to get to watch General Conference this weekend. I know it is a week
late but it is the best to hear from the living prophet and apostles of today.
God has not left our generation alone, he has restored the church Christ set up
including its organization and I can't wait to hear from them this weekend!
Love ya’ll
heaps. The church is true. Keep the prayers, emails and letters coming! I
promise I have a return prayer, email and letter policy that I have yet to
break ;)
-Sister
Rushing :)
And a very Happy Birthday shout out to my little brother who isn't so little anymore - 10 years old today!

Oh I love this cute, hard working sister! My most golden investigator was also 16 and was an atheist. I worried that she would fall away from the church with being so young and not many male priesthood boys to date and marry in Argentina. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter from her about 10 years after my mission, letting me know she had just returned from an LDS mission in Southern Argentina and her little sister had also gotten baptized. She married a non-member who has now gotten baptized and they are sealed. Her sister also just went through the temple with her husband for the first time last month. So amazing how the fruits of my labors 20 years ago are still going strong and bearing fruit. There’s nothing like the happiness and joy of the gospel and that it is everlasting! I love you Sister Rushing! You are in our daily prayers and thoughts! xoxo
